Their Story

They started 25 years ago, when they were nurturing their own smallholding

Frustrated with the prices and limited varieties of seeds available, they decided to start sourcing them directly from growers.  They have since grown to be one of the leading online seed sellers in the UK, however, at the heart they remain a small family-run business, supporting anyone who wants to grow from seed.

Their Ethos

Careful selection:  They offer a wide range of carefully picked vegetables, flowers and herbs seeds, and have traveled the world to source them from well established and respected commercial growers. They are continually adding to their range as new varieties become available and their high turnover ensures they have only the freshest seed in stock.   

Quality:  All their seeds are independently tested by the grower, and also personally on arrival in their own lab facilities before shipping to their customers.  Their own minimum germination standards are set considerably above the requirements required by EU/UK law and from experience, far above those of the major garden centre brands.  They are stored in climatically controlled conditions and are regularly tested for germination to ensure the highest viability.  They grow every variety they offer in their own gardens and trial grounds, and this allows them to not only check that they grow to type but that they also thrive in our climate, and ultimately deliver a great plant.

Great Value:  They are passionate about making their seeds affordable for all, which is why they supply direct and give generous seed quantities, and they use high quality packaging which is essential to protect their customer orders. All seeds are dispatched in plain, clearly labelled foil or grip-seal clear packets with no outer pictorial packet. Full variety names, seed quantity, packaging and sow by dates are on every packet, and cultivation advice is provided online on the listing pages for those that require them. 

Their Commitment

They are licensed and inspected annually by the Soil Association to ensure all their certified organic seeds fully comply with the strict EU BIO regulations, and all their growers have been fully inspected and approved by national organic licensing authorities.

They are always looking to improve their service.  They encourage their customers to ask any questions they may have about their products, and will provide advice to growers regardless of experience.
